ELSAs are teaching assistants who have received specific additional training from educational psychologists and specialist staff from whom they receive on going supervision following training. The course was developed by Hampshire Psychology Service.
The Solihull Approach is a brief intervention model used by a wide range of professionals from different agencies to work with children and families. It offers professionals a theoretical framework for thinking about the relationship between themselves, the child and the parent and provides a highly practical way of working with families.
This training will introduce you to an understanding of anxiety and how this emotional state/disorder manifests in children. It will consider different ways of carrying out a basic assessment of children and discuss ways of supporting children from realistic thinking to facing fears.
Fun and Families Parenting Group Programme.
Discovery Schools Academy Trust have invested in the delivery of an evidence based group work programme for parents and carers who are managing children’s difficult behaviour at home and in school across our 34 schools. Training to deliver the Centre for Fun and Families Ltd (CFF) parenting programme is FREE to school staff that have a passion and commitment to supporting parents and carers with the difficult role of being a parent.
