In addition to the mandatory training/input as detailed above, ALL partner schools will be able to dictate the use of their remaining allocated time to meet their individual needs. EPIC Speech and Language Therapy Services are pleased to be able to offer the following services to all partner schools:

Assessment and/or Consultations

Each child’s needs will vary and so the assessment process will differ between children depending on their needs. However, a typical assessment process is likely to include classroom observations, formal assessment using standardised tests and/or informal assessments through play/discussions in addition to case history interviews with parents. At the point of assessment, the classroom teacher will also be required to complete a teacher questionnaire to inform the Speech and Language Therapist’s holistic assessment of the child. Where other agencies are involved (such as Paediatricians, NHS Speech and Language Therapists, CAMHS, Social Workers, Educational Pyschologists etc.) the SALTs will liaise as appropriate. Following the assessment process, the Speech and Language Therapist will produce a comprehensive report detailing the assessment findings and, where applicable, recommendations for input within 21 working days of completing the assessment.

Multi-disciplinary Meetings

Where it is thought to be professionally appropriate and in consultation with the school, SALTs will attend multi-disciplinary meetings to discuss the needs and/or progress of the child. Please note, it is usually the case that the minutes taken by the school or lead agency will be the written feedback from such meetings.

Intervention

Where intervention has been recommended as a result of the assessment process, EPIC Speech and Language Therapy are able to offer ongoing therapeutic intervention sessions to our partner schools. This may be delivered on an individual or group basis.

Bespoke Training

Further to the mandatory training that will be delivered to all partner schools as part of our core provision, EPIC Speech and Language Therapy Services can offer bespoke training packages as requested by individual partner schools. This includes training on a range of specialist areas, including: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD); Selective Mutism; Dysfluency; Augmentative and Alternative Communication; Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH); Early Years etc. THIS IS NOT AN EXHAUSTIVE LIST.

ASD Pathway Assessment

From spring term 2018, EPIC Speech and Language Therapy will be able to offer ADOS2 assessments for children on the ASD diagnostic pathway. Please contact us on This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for further information regarding this.
